- How does a person get kidney stones?
– What kinds of foods contribute to this?
– What can one do to prevent this from happening?
I’ve heard that one way of treating them is a doctor uses a catheter which I NEVER want to go through. I personally do not have kidney stones but I want some advice as to how to prevent myself from getting them.
Thanks
Kidney Stones are calcium deposits, so avoiding ridiculous amounts of calcium would be good.
well i dont know all the reasons why one might get kidney stones but some are for drinking too much soda, coffee, and things like that, oh and if you dont drink enough water..if your pee comes out yellow alllllll the time then you should try to drink more water to purify your system or else you will start getting them. but really try to avoid soda.
yeah basically if you dont drink enough water. and foods that are not healthy or to much of somehting. to prevent drink water cuz if flushes you out.
I have one right now-yeah for me I had one last year also. I heard you are to drink plenty of water to void them and stay away from coffee which is truly my down fall. So plenty of water might help prevent it fo you.
I don’t know how a person gets kidney stones and if there was a clear cut answer it hopefully would be in the encylopedia under kidney stones:
Is there a way to prevent kidney stones:
In Herbs of the Earth by Mary Carse, she lists under stones and gravel in the urinary system pertaining to kidneys and the bladder, that these are rare where apple cider or vinegar are a staple of the diet. (I note that this reference does not state whether the vinegar needs to be apple cider vinegar, but the brands in the health food aisle are less processed.
The woman I work for now, says her daughter passed a kidney stone (identified by a doctor) after taking apple cider vinegar. The Braggs brand found in the health food aisle suggests to take 2 teaspoons in water with honey 3 times daily and there is another organic brand called Spectrum.

In In Apple Cider Vinegar Health System by the Braggs 1985 or 34th printing, it states on p 21:
A large number of kidney stones are of the type that can be dissolved with cider vinegar.
Use cider vinegar freely on salads consisting of cabbage, carrots, celery, beet root, tomatoes, green onions, parsley, cucumbers. Eat prunes, raisins, apples, at the same meal with the cider vinegar on the salad.

Note that neither citation above guarantees that this will work for you, but it may.
