I just had a kidney stone and passed it. 3 days of Hell. I’ve read a ton about how they form and the details of passing them. But I haven’t been able to find out how long it takes to form them.

I went to A&E about 3 weeks ago with pain in my side and they diagnosed me with a kidney stone. They did blood tests and said that it wasn’t affecting my kidneys so didn’t bother doing a scan as it was probably a small one. They said to go home and drink lots of water and it will eventually pass. Well it hasn’t. I am not in severe pain, just now and again I get a sharp reminder pain from my groin. Is this normal to take this long? I think I will go and see my doctor to make sure but, wanted to know if anyone else had experienced a kidney stone taking this long to pass?
