The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Program was founded in 1970 as an undergraduate major of the Institute of Health Sciences.

The MLS mission is to educate entry level laboratory professionals to accept positions in the wide range of health related laboratories in the New York area. These include:

  • hospital and private diagnostic labs
  • academic research laboratories
  • pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies

The rigorous curriculum also provides the academic background to pursue advanced degrees in graduate and professional (medical and dental) schools, as well as advanced clinical certifications.

Registration advisement for new MLS majors for the Spring 2016 semester will take place on the dates listed below. This includes students who entered the major in a prior semester but have not yet begun to take MLS classes. Students currently enrolled in MLS classes should NOT attend these sessions, but follow listmail and posted instructions. Advisement will take place at the Brookdale Campus (425 E. 25th Street), West Building, 7th floor, room 700A and 730:
